East Canyon!!!

Twice a year my family and I go to East Canyon resort, about a 70 minute drive from Provo. It is up in the mountains and we stay in condos and we fill our time with swimming, eating, sleeping, and playing games. I look forward to it every 6 months and have several childhood memories there. I brought friends some years, and we did boating and jet skis other years. It is one of my favorite places to be.
Me and Judson, he is such a good baby!

Mom and a bunch of the kids sitting around and relaxing.

Mom, Darren, Crystal, and Juan

Juan, myself, and Paul sitting around for a nightly game of cards. I love playing games with the fam and we are so grateful to mom and dad for picking this vacation to have our whole lives!

The Dark Knight

Here is my review. The acting was amazing. Heath Ledger was precisely the best Joker you could ever imagine. Christian Bale was gorgeous as always. The storyline was innovative and different, but good. I was excited and intrigued... for the first half of the movie. Then it got long. Everyone is going to hate me because in my group of 10 people, I'm pretty sure every single one of them adored this movie. And every other review I've read from critics have all been fabulous. But really. If this movie was 2 hours instead of 3, I would have LOVED it. But because of the length and because I got to the point where I was asking Juan what time it was every 15 minutes, I'm going to say that it was a great action movie, but I liked Ironman and Hancock better this summer. Maybe I'm all action movied out. So there you have it. I have the next pick and I'm dragging Juan with me to see Mama Mia. He actually is offering to go to it because he knows I've gone to all his movies with him. Oh and ps for anyone who sees Juan before they see The Dark Knight, DON'T let his speak about it. We were at a ward bbq on Saturday and in a group of like 15 people he spilled out one of the biggest spoilers of the movie! He felt bad, hopefully everyone thought he was joking.

Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Now I am Miss Pop Culture. I read all the tv blogs and celebrity sights every day (I try to stay with the less trashy ones as much as I can). All over the tv blogs is buzz about "Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog". It is a blog series at drhorrible.com that comes in 3 installments. The first and second are now available and act III comes live on Saturday, then they all disappear on Sunday and are only available for purchase on iTunes. I have watched the first two acts and it is so cute! Starring Neil Patrick Harris who is my love because of How I Met Your Mother. There is singing and a very sweet girl who is the love interest and it is just fun. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Not much going on lately. Last night I slept from 6 pm to 6:30 am. So literally, not much going on. Tonight we are going to see the Dark Knight which has been getting fabulous reviews so I am excited. I will post my review on Monday. Mine will be the true review of a girl who fell asleep during Batman Begins. I'm sure it was a very good movie, but my body shuts down when things get too loud! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Independence Day

We started out our big Fourth of July celebration with the annual 3rd of July party in the neighborhood I grew up. It's so good to meet up with old friends and is a great way to keep up with childhood friends' lives. My favorite part of the night is the sing-a-long where we all sit around and sing Take Me Out to the Ball Game and Goober Peas. This year the sound system went out before we were able to do the dance-a-long. Below is a picture that Crystal took of us doing the Macarena last year. Good times.

Friday we had a barbecue at my parent's house in South Jordan. We stayed there all day until 9 pm. I wasn't planning on staying that long, but Juan got into this tv show on the Revolution that was 7 hours long! He, my dad, and Darren watched that all day. B-o-r-i-n-g. Ha ha, just kidding, I'm sure it was a very patriotic program to watch. Juan and I went on home to Provo and watched the fireworks from the Provo Library.

Saturday we watched tv and played MarioKart and MarioParty all day. We managed to leave the house for the Olive Garden and a trip to Target, but that was it. I love the days when we hibernate in the house all day and do virtually nothing. And stay out of the heat, it is hot here!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!

Happy Birthday JUAN!

Juan makes me so happy. This post is devoted to Juan and how wonderful he is. Juan just turned 24 yesterday which makes me contemplate the last 8 years we have known each other. I knew of Juan but didn't really get to know him until his 16th birthday. We were at youth conference and ended up sitting in the hallway and talking for 6 hours straight. (I'm sure there were some type of activities going on, but we were oblivious). One of my favorite moments, when he called me during his break at Toys R Us. I was on top of the world! I remember I was sitting at the table with my family and the phone was for me and it was him. My little 15 year old heart beat so fast. I remember when we held hands for the first time in the parking lot of the Subway in Wisconsin. I remember when I first told him I love you, at 17 years old, I did say it first, but I wasn't going out on a limb or anything, I knew he loved me. He has adored me since the moment he met me and for the first 2 1/2 years I didn't deserve it. Juan and I have had a pretty easy first few years of marriage which I credit to all our young years of being kids and fighting and finding out all about each other. We've been through quite the journey and I can't wait for the 80 some birthdays I get to share with him in the future!

My Favorite Disney Moments

My favorite first ride- Pirates. The line was completely empty, thank goodness!

My favorite classic Disney picture. I love the castle lit up!
My favorite "little kid moment". I saw Minnie and yelled out MINNIE! I couldn't even control myself and I ran up to her. Later she saw me across the crowd taking this picture and looked right at me and waved. BFFs.

My favorite "Juan thinks he's cool" moment. We were waiting in line for California Screamin'.

My favorite show! We saw Aladdin (which is my favorite animated Disney movie) and we also saw a street performance of High School Musical 2 and I was there singing every word!

My favorite ride- Tower of Terror. I love it! It is the elevator one where you drop at unexpected times. I love the look on our faces. Juan has such intense fear.

My 2nd favorite ride and my favorite Juan pose- Splash Mountain. Juan decided to pretend like he was sleeping through it.

My favorite restaurant- Bubba Gump Shrimp. Juan and I couldn't decide on a dessert, so we got separate ones. I ordered the mud pie and this picture doesn't do it justice. It was huge! Like a half gallon of ice cream. I barely put a dent in it.
We had so much fun and it went waaaaay too fast. Both days were extremely hot, but the lines weren't bad at all, so we were always moving. We had plenty of time to get everything in. I loved the parade and the fireworks and the whole scene! It was Juan's first time and he was so excited about everything. His favorite ride was Space Mountain and he bought one of those Mickey punching souvenirs. We were definitely kids again this last weekend.
