Hello Good Bye

The weekend was fun-filled. Thursday and Friday we spent with Miriam and Chase celebrating their wedding! It was a beautiful day and Miriam and Chase glowed and were so happy. The food at the luncheon was amazing and you can just look at the happy couple as they interact and you know they are in love. Miriam's dress is amazing and I couldn't stop taking pictures of it! Here is a picture of us two couples on the temple ground, and then the second picture is of creepy Juan. I tried to get a nice picture of him, and he was all smiley when I pushed for my camera to take, then because of the delay, he had a chance to turn into scary Juan without me noticing!

Friday we said our final good byes to Lorel and Craig. Here is Juan and Craig in a man picture. They had to look cool but of course could not touch in any way! Ha ha. And then another one of Craig and Lorel together. I did take a picture of me and Lorel, but those are not to be posted since it was late and I was looking rough. We will miss them so much! Shout out to Virginia, woot woot. Saturday Juan and I did date night and went shopping, then out to dinner, then over to see Baby Mama. We had so much fun, Juan always keeps me laughing and he also spoils me. He doesn't spoil me all the time, but I definitely love when I catch him in a good mood and I can basically buy anything I want. Ha ha!

Baby Mama and Other Movie Reviews

Let me just say that Baby Mama is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! It was hilarious and Amy Poehler was soooo good in it. I love her especially because she is married to GOB from Arrested Development (Will Arnett) in real life and they are expecting a baby in real life. They are a really cute couple to me. But this movie was a feel good, laugh out loud to the point you think about it 10 minutes later and laugh again. I am Tina Fey compatible. I thought for a little while that Juan and I were just not funny. We watched movie after movie with Adam Sandler or Will Farrell. No no no, not the comedy for us. But Tina Fey, she makes us laugh. We also love love love 30 Rock-Tina Fey's sitcom. I highly recommend this movie.

Next movie up is Lars and the Real Girl. Now some of you may have seen the previews for this movie (or maybe not, it was limited release) and thought it was perverted. Well it is not perverted. It is about a guy in his twenties who is anti-social and practically a hermit. He is played by Ryan Gosling and is extremely shy. He ends up ordering a life sized doll and pretends that she is his girlfriend and the whole town ends up playing along. It's really sweet and the theme I got out of it is how desperate we are for companionship in life. We can be as independent as we want, but we ultimately need someone, a mom, a friend, a sister, a spouse to talk about our life with and to spend time with. I love Ryan Gosling, so that is why I had to see this movie, but it turned out really nice.

Fiddler on the Roof. I have been wanting to see this for a while because it is a classic and I know all the music. I loved the first hour. Tevye is an amazing actor, played by one namer Topol, and very entertaining with his dance moves and such. The story is reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice with 5 daughters who need to be married off and a mom who talks too much and a dad who truly loves his daughters and wants what is best for them, even if it means abandoning tradition. The last two hours just got really really long. Ha ha, but overall I'm glad I saw it.

Weekend Festivities

Hola friends! We had a very nice weekend. Friday we went out to dinner with Craig and Lorel and Rachelle and Aaron to the Olive Garden. I love the Olive Garden. Even if my entree is not so good, I always leave having a good experience because of the bread sticks and minestrone soup!

Saturday Juan and I had a day to ourselves and it was so fun! Juan used to work saturdays so I always just took the day for me, but it was really fun to spend the day with him. The weather has been beautiful and so we went out window shopping, although I did end up buying a new pair of shoes. Juan has been trying to get me to do this new thing. He thinks 80% of the things I buy are on impulse, so he wants me to wait a couple days and if I am still thinking about the item, then I can go back and buy it. He knows me too well. I don't know how many things in my closet have been worn once and then I just go back to my same old routine and forget to include the new item. So we went shopping all day, and then at night we played games and watched Enchanted.

Sunday we ate dinner at our friends and played games, and then Miriam and Chase came over later and we hung out with them. Work has been so busy lately and my nights at home during the week are just relaxing and recovering from the work day, so it's nice to be able to go out and socialize with people.

Jury Duty woop woop!

I just spent the last two days of my life serving Jury Duty and let me just tell you, my life is full. You should have seen me when I got the letter, it was the best day! And then I came to work to find out that BYU will pay me (without making me use a vacation day) and I'll get the $18 per day from the State (which is really pathetic, but a bonus to me)! Our case was not the most exciting (a bad check) but we had a lot of fun. I was on the case with a lot of talkative people, which I consider myself talkative but not around strangers. We ended up having a lot of good laughs and our bailiff said we were the most rowdy Jury ever. We of course were very respective during court, but we had our share of fun when we were banished to our jury room. After the trial we were finally able to discuss the case and came to a decision within an hour or so. I felt very smart because I kept making these points and everyone would be really impressed, just because I was the youngest didn't mean I am dumb. They bought us Brick Oven for dinner! These simple things in life sure do cheer me up. It was an overall good experience seeing how the court system worked and our judge was very nice and fair, Judge Davis, and the lawyers often got flustered and frustrated with each other. Kind of entertaining. I bet all those out there who dread Jury Duty are now going to check their mail every day!

It's April 1st!

Juan being Juan. We went out to eat this weekend with David, Juan's little brother, and we ordered mozzarella sticks and of course we all ate them within a few minutes. Then we're still waiting for our food so Juan takes the decorative lettuce and eats that too. Disgusting, lettuce covered in grease. Then I asked David to take a picture of us and what do you know, Juan wanted to be funny. I don't think I have many normal pictures of him! Our kids are going to think he was not normal. Which he isn't normal, so I guess that's okay. Life has been crazy busy lately, not for me, but for Juan. And now things are finally slowing down and I am ready for summer! Some things I have to look forward to in the next couple months are:

April: Mir's wedding! I am so deliriously excited. Miriam Lynn is my best friend and is getting married toward the end of April and I'm sure that seems so far away for her, but it is just right around the corner for me. Below is a picture of me and Mir and her bridal shower this past weekend. Less than 4 weeks.

Also in April, my shows come back for a few short weeks! I am a tv queen and waste a whole lot of time watching tv (I don't have homework so it's ok) and so I am excited for The Office, 30 Rock, Grey's and all my other shows to return!

June: Juan doesn't know this yet but we are definitely going on a summer bash roadtrip for Juan's birthday. Maybe to Vegas or Disneyland! We always take some sort of roadtrip during the summer and it's usually for a wedding or a specific event, so this year it will be Juan's birthday!

August: We are going to New Hampshire/Boston to visit my sisters Kelly and Ginger and their families! We haven't even seen Ginger and Sam's apartment yet and they have been there almost 2 years. The trip is not planned yet, but it is permanently markered into my calendar.

Those are our big plans for the summer, and I'm counting down to each one. Too bad it's cold in Utah right now, but I think it will get warm again soon.
