Cutest Video and More

I finally got a video of Amelia walking, almost running! After a month of practice, she is exclusively walking. She very rarely crawls. This weekend was her turning point. So I officially have a toddler now.
I have started implementing sign language. The only word she has learned in Sign is Please. Which is adorable, and very polite I might add. As for words she speaks. She says bottle, bye bye, and ball. All sounding exactly the same: Ba ba. Ha! She'll get there. And I am still working on getting rid of the bottle. I am such a mother afraid of change! We're getting there.

How cute are these two?
I have been obsessed with furniture lately. All I want is a couch and a bed brand new. Everything else I'll get at garage sales. Well we found a couch! It is leather and we got it at a Memorial Day sale and I am in love with it. I love the color, it is a bit darker than this picture, I found it to be a reddish brown.
That could almost pass for a smile on her face from far away.
I finally caught a picture of Amelia in her cool girl sleeping position she does every now and then. She is adorable. I am still trying to get her to latch onto a toy or blanket. I guess I shouldn't force it, she does play alone for long periods of time with her toys. But I just want her to pick a favorite!

And in case you missed her quick Please in the first video, here it is again. I got her in a good mood this morning!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. We had 2 Grill-outs and tons of family all weekend. It was a blast. I'd say Amelia goes freely to almost anyone who holds out their arms to her. She is still suspicious of grandpa and the uncles. But with Sam, she can't stay away from him and loves when he plays with her, he just has to keep a certain distance. Silly girl.

Missing Movies

She did not want to wake up from her nap to sit up in the high chair. So this is how she spent our whole lunch at The Brick Oven.
Most of the time we go out on dates, it is out to dinner. Because we get to bring Amelia right along, and she's chill and always adds to the fun.

But we have been missing movies. It's so fun to go out to the movies. I have never even tried to bring Amelia because I don't want to waste money if it doesn't work out for her. I couldn't imagine her being comfortable with such loud sound.

But I do have a few movies I want to see this summer. They may end up on the Red Box list, or library if Austin has an awesome library like we do here. But still, I'll daydream that I may see at least one or two of these in the theater.

Thor
This movie was not even on my radar. But then I got a text from my sister saying it was the best super hero movie she'd ever seen. I asked, even better than Spiderman? In which she laughed at me and thought I was kidding. Am I the only one that loved Spiderman?

Midnight in Paris
I mean, I am not sure about this synopsis, it doesn't seem that interesting. And Woody Allen, iffy. But Rachel McAdams, I am a 100% supporter. And this movie is where she met her current love Michael Sheen. They are adorable.
Harry Potter
This has to be seen in the theater.

The Help
I read the book. And LOVED it. Go get the book now, you will not be able to put it down. The acting looks great. I don't think the previews are making it look as good as it really is. I hope that's not a sign on what the movie is like. I am very hopeful on this one.

Crazy Stupid Love
Ryan Gosling in a comedy. A romantic comedy. I am very excited for this one. I love his charm and wit. One of my favorite actors. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

Did I miss any good ones? Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Love this skirt on her!

3 Months to go

Where we spend a lot of our time- out in the backyard on the trampoline.
We are already down to 3 months until we move to Austin! I have so many things I'm excited about. I have a running list of places to eat, that's my #1 priority, you know. I'm excited to find furniture, we have nothing. Just Amelia's stuff. No bed, no couch, no dressers. I love browsing furniture websites, I am loving this chair:

I do wish it came in a color, something exciting like magenta or teal or mustard yellow. And I wish it was $60 rather than $500, seriously! We did get an apartment! Well it's almost final. It is a 2 bedroom and has a washer and dryer and free cable. Glad to have that out of the way.

I'm excited about this summer. I plan to spend a lot of time playing games with family, hanging out with all of our friends. I want to enjoy the cooler summer nights since I understand I won't get that in Austin, it will be HOT all the time. It's already getting up to 98 degrees in May! Ginger and Sam will visit often this summer, and we have a trip planned to visit Juan's fam in Wisconsin over the 4th. I'm excited to put Amelia in shorts and dresses and not have to worry about her knees getting all beat up from crawling, or her dresses tripping her up while she crawls. As I write, she is walking laps around the basement, stopping in to say hello every now and then. She is loving this walking thing!

Juan is busy again. He is working 30 hours and it turns out his calculus class is a killer. Boo. So a countdown is back on, this term will be over June 17. Then he just has a History class through August. On the upside, we do see him a lot more than last semester, he just should be doing homework a lot of that time. Ugh.

That's all for now.

The dress

A long time ago, when I posted that I was pregnant with Amelia, I used a picture of the dress.

And then a month or so passed, and I found out I was really going to have a girl! And so I actually went out and bought the dress

And now, she is wearing the dress.

I could only imagine what life would be like back then. I daydreamed about my little girl in her size 18 month dress.

She is sweeter and better than anything I could ever imagine.

She is happier, she is cuter, she is smarter, she is more sassy, she is perfect.

Beyond my wildest dreams.

First Steps!!!

She did it! Amelia took her first steps on Friday. And she has been determined and practicing ever since, most of the time all by herself. Enjoy the video.
