I have a 2 year old who gets bored now. She'll walk around the house, kind of hanging her arms, looking around, and just whining. She'll beg, "Show show show show" and if I don't want her to watch a show, she'll climb on my lap and stare at me. I'll tell her to grab a book, No! Go make a treat for Maya in your kitchen, No! But not always, most of the time if I give her an idea of what to do, she'll get excited and go do it. It's just that other part of the time that I feel like I have a teenager to entertain.
Amelia is WAY into Three Little Pigs right now. She loves when we tell her the story. And she will act it out now by herself using her Little People house and 3 animals as the pigs and Minnie Mouse as the big bad wolf. When I'm telling it, she'll cut me off with such enthusiasm and say, "oh no, house fall". It is SO MUCH FUN. I'm excited to introduce more and more stories.
I have also been feeling bored these days. Sometimes I feel like it is 1 pm when it isn't even 10 yet! And sure I have cleaning to do and a book I could read, or journaling, or playing with the girls. And I do that all, but then it's like only 15 minutes have passed by! Reminds me of that song on Tangled, When Will My Life Begin. Juan calls that the anti-Stay at Home Mom song. Ha ha! I love my job, I'm so grateful for my life, but it's ok to be bored sometimes. Which is why I'm so excited for Ginger (my sister) and Sam to come visit TOMORROW!!! Yay! They will be staying for 10 days and Ginger is pregnant with a boy and we are going to shop and satisfy all my shopping addiction while spending their money and not mine! Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I'm so excited to go find some cute boy clothes, any suggestions? And eat good food and just have a fun time. We're going to Corpus Christi and to San Antonio and of course downtown Austin. It is going to be a blast.

Maya at 3 months
After Amelia, I didn't think there was a better baby. But Maya has shown her up! Here is what she is up to at 3 months old:
- She has just started figuring out her hands. She started by putting her hands together. Now she can see a toy and grab for it, sometimes she actually gets it and brings it straight to her mouth.
- She loves reading books. She just stares at the colors on the pages and smiles at my voice inflections. In not as ideal news, she loves the tv and will maneuver her body so she can see it.
- She does a head spin. Her head stays in the same place, her body rotates all around. She also scoots backwards when she's on her back. She is dying to move!
- She smiles and even laughed (once) while I sing Patty Cake and move her arms to the motions. She also enjoys Itsy Bitsy Spider.
- She really loves Amelia and smiles when Amelia talks to her. And will also move her body so she can see and watch Amelia.
- She has upgraded from her bassinet to her pack n play, still in our bathroom because we are classy that way. I am just not ready to move her across the apartment to share a room with Amelia. Her cry is just so tiny still.
- She is sleeping 10+ hours through the night without a peep. Although recently she's been breaking out of her swaddle so I've had to wake up once or twice to put her binky back in and re-swaddle.
- She is an awesome eater and I just die over her chubby cheeks and legs.
- She plays by herself and when she starts to fuss, I know she just needs help falling asleep. Easy peasy.
And of course I did a photo shoot today. I am loving these gorgeous pictures I got.
Dying over this pic.
This is what happened when I removed Amelia's hand from her mouth. Take note of the shock in Maya's eyes.
Amelia started goofing off at this point, but Maya was all business.
Gorgeous piercing eyes in this one, reminiscent of this picture of Amelia at 3 months:
They sure know how to Smile with their eyes.
Her sweet little hands together.
I couldn't resist the mid-sneeze.
And her monkey toes.
I don't think she could get any cuter! Happy 3 months to our dear Maya.

Big Red
Big news around here.
We said good bye to our beloved 1993 Camry and got a new car! A 2007 Camry, my favorite features include air conditioning, tinted windows to fight off the Texas heat, and an MP3 hookup. The car also runs very smoothly and we just LOVE it.Speaking of Texas heat, it has been an average of 85 degrees here for the past 3 weeks. Our pool was cleaned and Amelia went for her first swim of the season this week! She was very cautious. I'm sure she'll get very used to it as we'll be going every day.
And as for Easter festivities, Amelia was spoiled with 2 Easter egg hunts this year. One at our friend's house across the way with tons and tons of kids from church:
Amelia just got right to it and was obsessed with collecting the eggs.
I was trying to convince her to let me hold her basket while she went and played on the slide. She was not having it.
Instead she sat at a table and chowed down on every piece of candy she could get to. I'm such a good mom.
Maya came along and held Amelia's toys for her.
Maya was so excited about her bunny (which was Amelia's, but she never loved it like I wanted her to) and Oscar the Grouch book.
Our attempts at Easter pictures.
Maya's easy, she doesn't instantly squirm out of our arms like Amelia does.
I had my eye on Amelia's dress for weeks, it finally went on sale and with a coupon I got it for $11 when it was originally $20. I adore it.
And this is Maya's new trick, the 3/4 roll! Amelia did it too and was rolling over all the way within a few weeks. I love how proud Maya is of herself.
I love my girls. And Juan of course. Hope everyone had a great Easter!
And another egg hunt at our apartment complex for our spoiled girl:
Happy Juan! I showed Juan how happy he looked in this picture, he said he loves to see Amelia having so much fun. Sweet.Maya came along and held Amelia's toys for her.
