Glass Slippers

A little while back, Amelia saw these glass slippers at the store. She instantly fell in love and had to have them. She didn't even say her normal, I ask Santa for this. She carried them around the store and then reluctantly set them by the candy bars as I checked out. There were tears.

So we got home and made a sticker chart. She has been having a hard time going to bed at night and just generally being obedient. So every time she stayed in her room for naps or bedtime, she got a sticker. And every time she said, Yes Mom and was obedient right away, she got a sticker too.
It took a couple weeks, but finally the chart was filled! She was so proud. And she insisted Daddy go with her to the store to get her Glass Slippers.
And lucky enough, the Cinderella shoes were on a great sale, so we got to pick out some Belle shoes too so that Maya can play dress up as well. I have too much fun buying these cute things for my girls, especially when they play with them non-stop and can Maya get any cuter?
She loves to click around the kitchen in them.

We had a rainy day this week where we ate lunch outside as it poured rain around us. It was so much fun!

 Maya and her big eyes.

We have been having some slow summer days. Most days are really great with the girls playing together for long periods of time and just being more independent. Some days (like today) are filled with mischievous Amelia and lots of frustration on my part. And Juan coming home to a wife who is trying not to be a complete, needy mess. And yes, we are adding another one in just 2 1/2 months! Yikes people.

Vacation!!!

We went to Utah for our first Family Reunion on my side! We figured it was time, with 18 grand-kids and a few of us scattered over the country. It was such a fun trip to see nieces and nephews who are almost adults now and just catch up with everyone. We loved seeing Amelia play with her cousins and she seems like such a big kid keeping up with all of them.

First day was Lagoon! That is Utah's very own amusement park.

Amelia went on all the kiddie rides, even the roller coasters and the kid equivalent of the giant drop! She was so gutsy, it was so fun to see.

Maya and I watching on the side (photo bombed by Ginger). We weren't always this happy to be just watching.

Here's Maya in super pout mode. She really didn't like missing out on the rides.

Day 2 was family picture day! My parents, their 7 children, spouses, 18 grandchildren. Yeah it was chaos. We are still waiting to see how they turned out.

But didn't I get the best ever last minute romper for Maya? Bought this day-of, it is the cutest thing.

Sister hug.

Our whole family at Lagoon, we all wore the matching t-shirts. It was pretty awesome.

Juan looking thrilled.

And the sister pic.

A visit with my dear friend Margarita.

And Mill chillin' with the big kids.

Not pictured: We saw Miriam and her beautiful family and new house! We missed seeing Andrea, we were all set up for a Sunday breakfast and then Matt got sick :( We ate at Cafe Rio of course and had a bbq at Paul and Rachelle's on Sunday, their backyard is amazing. And we did a lot of sitting around and talking, just how I like it.

It is already mid-August! It was a great final summer trip. We are getting ready to start up a pre-school co-op. I am stalking Craig's list for a bunk bed for the girls, and we have a few more boxes to organize and put into storage before the baby comes. Which is 3 months away! Time is flying!
