Movin on Up

Last week I got Amelia from her crib in the morning. She was happy like always. And I said the words, "Let me have your binky" but I didn't hold out my hand. And she pulled out her bink and gave it to me. She actually understands the words I say! I'm not just talking to talk. It has changed my life.

We'll say, "we're going to say prayers" and she'll fold her arms. Or "good job" and she'll clap before I can clap. It has just clicked for the both of us. She knows what I am saying, it's incredible. These little things are what bring me to reality. She is growing up. But I will tell you this, there are still the things that keep her my baby. She loves to snuggle. Before every nap and before bedtime. She just snuggles into my shoulder. Or sits on my lap and rubs my arm.

She is more playful now. When I make her bottle and she sees me, she will tease and crawl away at full speed. She loves when I chase her. I sit down and play with her and I'll start playing with the dollhouse and put the baby in her cradle and the mom in bed. Amelia bee lines over and has to take them out. Then I'll line up the cars, she has to come over and tip them all over. Juan got her this wind up toy that is a reindeer that gallops, she cannot handle it, she is too excited and has to get to it asap and pick it up so it stops. She may need work on playing with others.

And she is climbing the stairs now! I feel like there is some big development with her every week. I am so happy to be her mom.

I love it when they finally seem to just get it! Not sure if Isaac is at that point yet, but I remember when Ella got to that point it was pretty amazing. What a sweet and perfect little girl you have! She sounds like a funny little thing, and I hope I get to meet her someday!!!

Wow! It's crazy to think someone so tiny can really understand what you say! I bet it does make life easier in a lot of ways. And I'm also glad to hear she still acts like a baby still, cuz you know I worry about my baby being all grown up!

We have only been gone for 2 months now and she has learned to do so much in that short period of time. It is crazy with how fast she is picking up on things.

I love seeing it all through your eyes Cami! You are such a wonderful Mom and you realize how blessed you are with this precious spirit! She is just so adorable I want to squeeze her through the computer screen!

That is one of the most exciting things when they understand what we are actually telling them and we realize they get it too! Amelia is so skinny, I can't believe she's doing stairs!

I watched this video with Britta on my lap and she loved it. She just had a big smile on her face the whole time. So then we watched it again. :)
