The positive ones:
No back aches. I've been sleeping like a dream. I've still been working full time and my work is so flexible, I sleep in a few times a week which is wonderful. No major discomforts, the evenings are the worst and not even that bad.
The outlook is that she's going to come late, I can do this pregnancy thing for a week extra.
The negative ones:
She is soooo going to be 13 pounds. Every doctor tells me, that's a good-sized baby in there!
Also, I have a co-worker who is nasty sick right now. I told Juan last night that if I get his sickness, I am so going to egg his house. In which Juan replied, adults don't threaten things like that anymore.
What I'll be doing to induce labor:
Nothing crazy here. I'm not quite ready for some herbal treatment or anything like that. I'll be walking stairs 2 at a time. I'll be bouncing on my exercise ball while I watch tv. I already had a talk with the babe and welcomed her into the world. Yes a website mentioned babies were just waiting on their welcome, thought that was hilarious and could totally see my little girl pulling attitude like that.
5 more days until due date, my guess still stands at 9 more days to March 12. The latest I'd be induced is March 15. So 12 more days at the most!

Baby's Takeover of our Apartment
We live in a 1 bedroom apartment which we have lived for over 4 years and we love it here. We will be moving from this said apartment in May. For 3 months, the three of us will get cozy here. I have cleaned out many a space for this baby of ours. She deserves it.
We have all the items that I anticipate needing (I'm sure there will be more to get). Thank you to everyone who has given us furniture, supplies, gifts, etc. We would not be able to do this without such generous family members and friends. I am so excited now to sit in my apartment for the next 2 weeks and just stare at all of is baby equipment that will soon be put to use.

The Bag
Two years ago I found out I was pregnant. I was so excited and ready to shop! I didn't want to go overboard, knowing I hadn't even had my first doctor's appointment yet. But what was first on my priority list to get? The diaper bag.
I searched for a few weeks looking for the cutest bag that could pull off as a purse with the conveniences of a diaper bag at the same time. I found the bag, ordered it online, and was so excited to see it arrive in the mail. A week later I found out that I would miscarry.
The bag was stashed in the closet, hard to look at really. It remained untouched, and uncertain it would ever be used.
Until now.
Because of my timeless taste in bags (or my utter ignorance for current fashion trends), the bag is now ready to use for baby Amelia. Isn't it spectacular?

Let the Guessing Begin!
I want guesses people. When will I have this baby? How much will she weigh?
My due date is March 8.
My guess is she will come March 12 and will weigh 9 lbs 10 oz. Big baby girl. Her name will be Amelia Rose, so no guessing on the name (for those of you tempted to say Juanita).
AND if you are already a mother, please let me know if your first baby came early or late. Just curious.

Baby Must-Haves
Well I had my second and final baby shower and Saturday and it was excellent! Thanks to these fabulous girls for throwing it for me.
Me, Amanda, Miriam, and Manda
Here are all the gals who showed up. I'm so overwhelmed with gratitude, not to mention the girls who couldn't make it who still stopped by with a gift. That is just so thoughtful.
And these tiny newborn Carter's dresses win for the baby's first outfit home (thank you Megan). I think it will be the pink one. And I think she'll wear these every day until she's no longer newborn size (which with our baby may just be a couple days, I have a feeling she's a big one). I just love them!
So now I am free to buy anything else we may need. PLEASE share with me things that you always buy new mothers, or things you had to rush out and buy as a new mom. I don't want to miss anything.

Selfless vs Selfish
Something I admit openly is that I'm a selfish person. I mean come on, I'm the youngest of 7 kids and I was spoiled. I am a friend and I'm considerate and I love my husband, but can I honestly say I'm selfless. No. I'm half and half.
One thing I hear about having a new baby is that I will become completely selfless. That everything in my life will revolve around my baby, everything I do, say, buy, make plans for, etc will all be with the baby first in mind. Juan and I had a conversation, me turning completely selfless? We both agreed that maybe that change wouldn't occur in me.
Then today I made this statement to Juan:
"You know what is proof that I am becoming selfless?
I am still using this purse."
That's right. I've had the same purse since August. That is 6 months people! 6 months for a purse fanatic is a long time. It will soon be changed over to a purse/diaper bag, which has a story of its own.
But really, if that isn't selfless, what is?

So Jo Baby Shower
I had my first baby shower thrown by my mom and sisters (thank you!). I saw friends from childhood, high school, my 2 Utah pre-college wards. Everyone was so kind with their gifts and it was so much fun to catch up.
Here are a few of the pictures from the day:
Crystal was the sister that headed up all the planning and pulled out a great party! Sadie, my 14 year old niece took my usual youngest sibling role-slave.
Juan and I in front of all the cute clothes!
Me, Adrian, and Toni.
Me posing with some gifts. I look exhausted!
This is proof that Juan just couldn't remain in the basement during the whole festivity. Look at him thinking, "How come Cami got to unwrap all the presents for OUR baby?"
