Memorial Day sweet treat
Not only do I love memorial day because I get a long weekend, but I also get a short work week! Love it. We had a fabulous extended weekend. On Friday Juan and I had a date night, out to dinner then for a drive. Saturday we spent at my parents playing games and chatting with everyone. And then Monday we went to my parents again for a barbecue. Ginger is in town babysitting Paul and Rachelle's kids, so we always go to my parents a lot when people are in town visiting. I slept in way too much each weekend day and ended up have creepy dreams. I had a full on nightmare on Sunday night. It makes me never want to sleep in again! It rained all weekend and I absolutely loved it, and now the weather is back to sunny which is also nice. I went out and bought a basket for my bike today just because I need a place to put some things. The only basket at walmart was a pretty little white one with flowers, so basically my bike looks like it belongs to a little girl, but I don't mind! Today I am kicking it into gear and going back to the gym regularly (it's been a while) and I'm just going to exercise again because it makes me feel good. I love how the sunny, warm weather gets me motivated about life.

I'm a Comma!
My sister had this on her blog so I just had to try it out. It was hard to answer the questions because there were only a few so I had to be very honest with myself. Ha ha!

Track Meets Over
My job is generally pretty relaxed (which is why I can blog while at work) but the last few months have been crazy because our department was in charge of BYU High School Track Invitational and we also hosted the High School State Meet. They both are huge events and I envy all event planners and all those small details they have to deal with. Since I am not in an interview, I will go ahead and admit that I am not detail-oriented. Blah, I like to look at the whole picture and just assume everything will work out. So besides all the busy work days of preparation for the meets, I also had to work both meets. I recruited Juan to come and work with me and we had fun as co-workers. We were in charge of getting lunches and snacks to all 200 employees, so Juan had fun driving the golf cart around as if he were playing real life Mariokart as he describes it. He just needed some banana peels. The first of the two weekends I got super sun burned, my poor pale skin. It was extremely painful and so by the second meet, I refused to leave the food tent and sent Juan out on all the deliveries. Now I am back to being caught up on normal life like my celebrity gossip and tv blogs. Love it.

Rom-Coms
What has happened to Romantic Comedies, or rather what has happened to me? I think part of it is that Juan happened to me. We were watching Dan in Real Life a few weeks back and within the first 15 minutes of the movie, Juan was like, this is what's going to happen and of course he was right. Now I know you can do that with many romantic comedies, but that was a genuinely good, fun movie and he ruined it for me. We just watched 27 Dresses this weekend and I hated it. Absolutely repulsed me and made me want to give up romantic comedies for good. Not original, predictable, and don't even get me started on how Katherine Heigl thinks that just because she did Knocked Up and 27 Dresses that now she is too good for Grey's Anatomy. I hope she leave Grey's Anatomy and ends up bombing in movies too. That will teach her to abandon what made her. Baby Mama was a romantic comedy, but it was original and laugh out loud funny and it was Tina Fey. So here is my predicament, if I give up romantic comedies all together trying to avoid suffering through another 27 Dresses, will I miss the Baby Mamas, While You Were Sleepings, and Runaway Brides? Hello Good Bye
The weekend was fun-filled. Thursday and Friday we spent with Miriam and Chase celebrating their wedding! It was a beautiful day and Miriam and Chase glowed and were so happy. The food at the luncheon was amazing and you can just look at the happy couple as they interact and you know they are in love. Miriam's dress is amazing and I couldn't stop taking pictures of it! Here is a picture of us two couples on the temple ground, and then the second picture is of creepy Juan. I tried to get a nice picture of him, and he was all smiley when I pushed for my camera to take, then because of the delay, he had a chance to turn into scary Juan without me noticing!

Friday we said our final good byes to Lorel and Craig. Here is Juan and Craig in a man picture. They had to look cool but of course could not touch in any way! Ha ha. And then another one of Craig and Lorel together. I did take a picture of me and Lorel, but those are not to be posted since it was late and I was looking rough. We will miss them so much! Shout out to Virginia, woot woot. Saturday Juan and I did date night and went shopping, then out to dinner, then over to see Baby Mama. We had so much fun, Juan always keeps me laughing and he also spoils me. He doesn't spoil me all the time, but I definitely love when I catch him in a good mood and I can basically buy anything I want. Ha ha!

Baby Mama and Other Movie Reviews
Let me just say that Baby Mama is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! It was hilarious and Amy Poehler was soooo good in it. I love her especially because she is married to GOB from Arrested Development (Will Arnett) in real life and they are expecting a baby in real life. They are a really cute couple to me. But this movie was a feel good, laugh out loud to the point you think about it 10 minutes later and laugh again. I am Tina Fey compatible. I thought for a little while that Juan and I were just not funny. We watched movie after movie with Adam Sandler or Will Farrell. No no no, not the comedy for us. But Tina Fey, she makes us laugh. We also love love love 30 Rock-Tina Fey's sitcom. I highly recommend this movie.
Next movie up is Lars and the Real Girl. Now some of you may have seen the previews for this movie (or maybe not, it was limited release) and thought it was perverted. Well it is not perverted. It is about a guy in his twenties who is anti-social and practically a hermit. He is played by Ryan Gosling and is extremely shy. He ends up ordering a life sized doll and pretends that she is his girlfriend and the whole town ends up playing along. It's really sweet and the theme I got out of it is how desperate we are for companionship in life. We can be as independent as we want, but we ultimately need someone, a mom, a friend, a sister, a spouse to talk about our life with and to spend time with. I love Ryan Gosling, so that is why I had to see this movie, but it turned out really nice.
Fiddler on the Roof. I have been wanting to see this for a while because it is a classic and I know all the music. I loved the first hour. Tevye is an amazi
ng actor, played by one namer Topol, and very entertaining with his dance moves and such. The story is reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice with 5 daughters who need to be married off and a mom who talks too much and a dad who truly loves his daughters and wants what is best for them, even if it means abandoning tradition. The last two hours just got really really long. Ha ha, but overall I'm glad I saw it.

Weekend Festivities
Hola friends! We had a very nice weekend. Friday we went out to dinner with Craig and Lorel and Rachelle and Aaron to the Olive Garden. I love the Olive Garden. Even if my entree is not so good, I always leave having a good experience because of the bread sticks and minestrone soup!
Saturday Juan and I had a day to ourselves and it was so fun! Juan used to work saturdays so I always just took the day for me, but it was really fun to spend the day with him. The weather has been beautiful and so we went out window shopping, although I did end up buying a new pair of shoes. Juan has been trying to get me to do this new thing. He thinks 80% of the things I buy are on impulse, so he wants me to wait a couple days and if I am still thinking about the item, then I can go back and buy it. He knows me too well. I don't know how many things in my closet have been worn once and then I just go back to my same old routine and forget to include the new item. So we went shopping all day, and then at night we played games and watched Enchanted.
Sunday we ate dinner at our friends and played games, and then Miriam and Chase came over later and we hung out with them. Work has been so busy lately and my nights at home during the week are just relaxing and recovering from the work day, so it's nice to be able to go out and socialize with people.
