We went to the doctor for Maya's 9 month appointment. She is 18 lbs 6 oz and 28 1/2 inches long. Almost identical to Amelia's 9 month stats. Maya was a champ, just gave the doctor suspicious looks the whole time, and cried for a quick minute with her shot. I had been prepping Amelia all week, letting her know we were going to the doctor for Maya, and yes Maya would get shots, but not Amelia. But then... the doctor asked if I wanted them to get the flu shot and I said, sure why not? Well maybe this is why not:
Amelia's face when I told her she would indeed be getting a shot. She even hid behind the chair. Might sound terrible, but this cracks me up.
This was a few minutes later, while still waiting for the shot. That is her flexing her muscle, deciding she would be strong.
And showing off her shot. She did great! She held very still and gave a good cry for a few seconds. Silly girl, I am new to my kids having anticipation and being aware of what a shot is.
So glad we are healthy over here.

That face is pitiful! Don't they have the flumist nasal spray?
That picture of her hiding behind the chair cracks me up! I can't believe how grown up she's looking.
Poor little Amelia, getting tricked last minute into getting a shot! Look at that little face with feelings of betrayal all over it! haha. You're kids are awesome.
Look at her showing off her cute band-aid! I love the picture behind the chair, too cute! I am not looking forward to children being more aware of their surroundings, I am just as afraid as getting shots as Amelia seemed! :) Love the quick update!
that is such a sad picture. You are such a mean mom. Haha. It is fun to have pictures like that to show her when she is older. She is so brave to get shots.
I still remember Brooke getting 2 shots at the age of 4 and they put one in each leg. I tried to talk her into being brave and not crying...but being as dramatic as she is she was crying so hard and yelling that she could not walk because they hurt so badly, that I had to carry her all the way to the car with everyone watching us. She still says she remembers the pain. I think she built it up so much in her head that she made herself feel it that badly. It is great you have a picture to show Amelia one day. We still talk about Brooke being our drama queen. So great. I am glad Amelia survived.
