And Oscar rolls!
Kasee's baby shower and Weekend fun!
My dear friend Kasee is having her first baby in May!!! We are super excited for her and we had a baby shower for her last week. We had it on my house and I got a bit crafty and made a few decorations and also made sugar cookies for the event. All the other food was provided by many many friends who offered to help and saved my life. Thank you ladies. Here are some pictures from the event:
I made the rag banner and loved how it turned out! I want to make another one for the girls' room.
These cookies were done with the glace icing recipe and tutorial from Our Best Bites. I have to say when I was in the middle of it, I promised to never do these again. BUT now that I know how to do it, I think I would make them again because the frosting just turns out so cute! I used the cookie recipe from Mel's Kitchen Cafe (my fave).
I cut out hearts and sewed them in a line to make these hanging hearts over the food table. I was really pleased with how it all turned out!
Dear Friends.
Kasee and me.
Over the weekend we headed downtown with a plan in mind that didn't work out. Instead we ended up playing at Zilker park and having a great time in the gorgeous weather!
Blue Bonnet time in Texas! Maybe we'll have another try at getting a good picture...
Amelia has been practicing hard on her bike and is awesome at it now! She and Juan went on a bike ride during lunch today. So fun.

My Sisters
I failed to blog about a few more visitors I had in February! My sister Kelly visited, and my sister Crystal and her little boy Judson. I feel so blessed and loved to have all but one of six siblings come visit. They have seen my home, seen where we live. And they all have families and schedules of their own. I just feel very loved.

My 4 year old and my 4 month old
Miss Amelia is 4 years old today! It feels surreal to have a 4 year old. I feel like I have been a mother forever, but at the same time I feel like Amelia was a tiny baby just a few weeks ago!
She is a goof. She loves to be silly. She loves to put names into songs, "The cold never bothered Maya anyway" or "Say something I'm giving up on Oscar". She got it from her dad.
Whenever I correct her or tell her not to do something, she makes this face and yells, blablablablabla. (did she get that from Juan also?) It is not necessarily disrespectful, it's like she feels awkward in a serious situation so she gets silly to break up the tension.
She is a sweetheart. She compliments me daily. And the other day I asked her what she was thinking about and she said, you. And I said, what about me? She said, you a good mommy. And then I proceeded to cry, tender mercy for me that day.
She is constantly telling me that she wants to be a Mommy like me. She is obsessed with Oscar and loves to put in his binky or comb his hair. She will lay by him on the floor and mimic his every move. Her newest thing about Oscar is saying, "he looks just like a little daddy". I guess she thinks he looks like Juan?

She is such a good learner. I don't really push learning letters or things like that, but a long time ago I showed her how to write her name. I maybe sat down with her twice, and then suddenly she was practicing her name all the time and within a few months got it down in order. She loves to teach Maya her numbers and colors, although Amelia does mix up green and blue often and she and Maya get in fights about it now.
She says "this year" for "today" and she begs to listen to "Freezing" songs. Her favorite books are Pete the Cat and Sandra Boynton books. She loves Peanut Butter and Jelly and requests it for every meal, and apples. According to Amelia, there is no other cookie besides a chocolate chip cookie. (Another thing she got from Juan.) We love our Amelia.
Oscar is 4 months old!
This boy is my little buddy. He has become a bit more clingy the last few weeks. He hates to be left alone. He is an awesome eater, eats very quickly and wakes up once in the night between 3 and 5. He is a smiler! He smiles anytime you give him the littlest bit of attention. (but not for the camera, he is suspicious of that thing).
Oscar has just started getting interested in toys. He has a crinkle book that he loves to attack and try to eat. And also a ball that he loves to hold and move from hand to hand. One of those flexible net-like balls. He has no interest in movement. He holds his head up great when he is on his tummy but does not even bend toward one side to try to roll over. And if we try to coerce him with a toy, he loses interest once it's out of reach.
He is a snuggler. He falls asleep on my chest easily. He also sleeps in his carseat and takes most of his morning naps on the go. We're not looking forward to the days where we're stuck inside waiting for him to wake up from nap. He's got a good set of lungs on him and we get to hear his screams a good amount of time in the car, while I'm fixing lunch or putting the girls to nap. Basically any time I need to get something done right then, you can guarantee it is the exact time he needs to get out a good scream. But still, he is my joy, he is my calm. Whenever I need a break from the sassy toddlers that sometimes scream No at me, Oscar is always there with the biggest smile letting me know he loves me.
Some typical Oscar faces. The side eye, what are you doing? (above) And the shocked and wide-eyed, Whoa where did you come from? (below)

| Amelia at 4 months. I am still seeing more Amelia in him. |
We celebrated Amelia's birthday over the weekend. Just our little family. I know Amelia is getting to the age where she is asking for friends and to play with friends. But I just love and cherish the moments with our little/pretty-big-now family.
Maya is enjoying this hug too, right?
I got Amelia these cute 6-inch toddler dolls that I am obsessed with. From Toys R Us. I may or may not have ordered the Frozen dolls and Cinderalla/Prince Charming in the same collection (to be given to them as rewards for filling chore charts in the upcoming months, if I can hold out that long). It is so cute to watch her play with them. But her favorite was the Tinker Bell Music box. She loves it, and wears the key around her neck at all times.
Maya with her cute pony, finally! She was needing it.
These sisters are just the cutest duo I've ever seen.
Thanks for reading this giant post!
