1. I am loving this blog post I found on Pinterest. I'll be following her blog now. It's called 10 Things I Want to Tell Teenage Girls. The whole post is worth reading, but here is a quote from it:
"You were created for a purpose, exactly so. You have innate value. You are loved more than you could ever comprehend; it is mind-boggling how much you are adored. There has never been, and there will never be another you. Therefore, you have unique thoughts to offer the world. They are only yours, and we all lose out if you are too fearful to share them."
2. The Riverboat Cruise we went on of Ladybird Lake in downtown Austin. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was something fun to do with our friends and we learned a lot about Austin in the process.
3. Maya's half roll. She spends the majority of her time like this, kicking her legs trying to get somewhere, anywhere.
4. Miss Plunket accessories. My fried Tiffany introduced me to their flowers that are build-your-own and you can put them on a headband, clip, necklace, anything you can imagine! It is too much fun.
5. My cute family sent me an Edible Arrangement. Deliciousness. I am going into surgery tomorrow to remove an ovarian cyst. Not fun.
6. Blue Bonnets. They are a little Texas flower. There's a beautiful field full of them that we pass by on our walks, so we stopped and got some pictures of the girls.
7. Chuy's chips and salsa. We stopped in and got chips & salsa To-Go for dinner. Best $5 I've spent in a long time, and they'll last for days.
8. This hidden gem from Maya's blessing day. Kasee captured it on her camera:

Putting the miles on our stroller
Our double stroller has been my lifesaver these days. Amelia goes straight from carseat to stroller, no running, no danger in busy parking lots. I also find it much easier to load the girls into the stroller than I do the car, especially now that Maya lays in the stroller without her carseat. So we are walking everywhere! To the new park, to the library, to the yogurt place, on a walk with friends. The weather has been perfect, and why not burn off those calories on the way to and from frozen yogurt?
Amelia can always choose 1 toy when she leaves the house and it is always her new constant companion Woody, on this particular day she was lucky and could bring both.
This is what Maya does while Amelia is off playing. This is Maya's thing, she always pulls her blanket up with both hands so she can chew on it. I think it's pretty adorable.
We had Maya's 2 month appointment last week. She is weighing in at 11 lbs 12 oz (75th percentile), and she is 23 1/2 inches long (88th percentile).
These pictures are for my mom. She sent Amelia a gift for her birthday that she already had. So we got to return the gift and Amelia picked out anything she wanted in the whole store. She chose this cute shopping cart and it goes perfectly with her little kitchen. She loves it.
And as for Amelia at her 2 year old appointment she weighs 26 1/2 pounds (47th percentile) and is 37 1/2 inches long (100th percentile). That means she is taller than 99.999 percent of kids her age. That is awesome!

Ode to our 2 year old
But she is just so dang cute! And the reason why I was able to regroup and calm down about my new lively and energetic Amelia is because of this, it is so easy to focus on the frustrating parts of her. But the reality is, there are WAY more positive things about Amelia at this age. And out of one day, I get frustrated 1 out of the 8 hours we are alone, cumulatively. That is nothing! So why do I spend all my time complaining about the few instances?
Here are some things we love about our girl:
- Her speech is quickly taking off. She repeats everything now! And is combining a lot of words to form sentences. She is still sticking to 1 syllable versions of every word possible (she wouldn't get that from me?) which makes it quite fun to decipher. But Juan and I get it most of the time
- She is particular about the funniest things. I got her 2 new bibs. She will not wear the flower bib. Only the animal bib with the monkey, and she always makes the monkey sound.
- She has to kiss Maya before nap and bedtime. If we forget, she will look around in a panic and run to find her.
- She is getting less picky! I have been cooking more often and more variety of foods, and she is actually eating what we put in front of her. She also recently decided to like PB sandwhiches, she prefers it open-faced on just 1 piece of bread.
- She has her books memorized. She can find any book I describe to her and then she will quickly identify everything on each page as I ask her to point to things. And she has a lot of books.
- She finally can answer the question, What is your name? Except she says her name as "Dia" (still working on getting her to pronounce L's). It's progress.
- She is very familiar with numbers 1-5, but doesn't quite have them down. She skips 3 and goes straight to 5, and always says it very excitedly, Five!
- She can sing along several letters to the alphabet song. F-L to be exact. And then Y and Z.
- She is finally starting to sing along to many songs, just the words that linger that she can keep up with. Her favorite song is still Moves Like Jagger.
- She laughs as she plays now. I was in the bathroom this morning and thought she was coughing, but no, she was loudly cracking it up over Woody and how he was almost falling off the ottoman. Love it.
Amelia's birthday was yesterday!
The cake is a stick figure of Amelia. She recently became obsessed with drawing and asks me to draw stick figures of our family multiple times per day.
Here is her official attempt at a stick figure. I am so proud. This is the first drawing she has ever done that is not chaotic scribbles. And she draws it over and over.

We told her to smile. She is trying to force it.
She's reminding me of her cousin Judson in this one and his goofy smile. She really is trying to smile here.
She gracefully picked off all the frosting, then informed me she was Done.
Isn't Maya so irresistibly cute?
Andrea and Addy stopped in to say hello.
Steph gave her some play dough that she adores. So far she just rips off small pieces and sticks them on the window. I'm cool with that, easy clean up.
Her baby ball from Kasee and Jason.
All of our friends. All out to support Amelia.
You may be noticing her little owie under her left nostril. Juan popped up to run to his phone, Amelia followed without his knowledge, and he accidentally knocked her into our dvd tower. Her 2nd bloody nose of her life (the first being when she fell off the bed at like 9 months old, that one was my bad.)
For her presents she got a Woody and Jessie doll. Yes we are spoiling her! I just couldn't decide. These are the most perfect dolls I have ever seen. Her other presents were a Book of Mormon board book and a Simba coloring book.
And when it reached 8:30 pm and we realized we had never fed our child dinner, Woody and Jessie just had to sit beside her. She will not go anywhere without them.
This video is of Amelia just being herself. Her smile really is the best smile in the world, even if it isn't captured in still pictures so well, haha.

Maya's Blessing Day
Maya was blessed yesterday at church. She really is just our sweetest little baby. I'm so happy she's part of our family.
Julaine just happened to be in town from Wisconsin. So she and her family were able to stay at our place on Saturday and attend Maya's blessing on Sunday. Maya is a lucky girl.
I love that she was smiling in some of these pictures. We blessed Amelia at 4 weeks, so she wasn't smiling yet.
We had many friends over to our place after church. And we ate food and passed Maya around and just talked and had fun! Our family was sure sad they had to miss the blessing, being so far away. But we just saw a lot of family in Utah and they got to be with Maya plenty.
Our friends were so helpful with bringing food to their constant offer to help us in any way. I've said it before, but we are SO blessed to be here and to have met such great people.
Amelia was also spoiling Maya with attention on this day. She kept pointing to her and saying Preee (pretty). And she just had to give her a thousand kisses all day long.
We sure love our Maya girl and her chubby cheeks.
