Saying Good Bye

1 full day left in Utah. Today we went to Provo for an ultrasound (still a girl!) and it was so sad to say good bye to the good ole Provo. I love it there. And then here we spent all last week hanging out with friends and then family all weekend. I've said good bye to Ginger and Heather, and wow, that was hard. I love my sisters and I love that we have such a close relationship. I know we will stay close but it is sad to not see each other every few weeks, you know?

We have been having fun in the midst of saying good bye!

Amelia and Abby

We had dinner with Heidi and Nate and Bishop and Cheryl Brown. Amelia had so much fun with her friend Abby, and Heidi and I are both pregnant together again!

We hope to always be close to the Browns, they are such smart and fun people.

Margarita! We had dinner with Margarita and Brad at our favorite, Leatherby's. Marg is one of my oldest friends, love them.

Hanging out with Judson, Benjamin, and Grandma.

Chris and Sadie. You will notice that Amelia does not love all these pictures.

Aw my niece Maddie. We have grown pretty close, she is such a cute girl.

With Aunt Rachelle and Uncle Paul.

Another with Sadie. That could almost pass off as a smile!

Sam, Chris, Amelia, Ginger and Maddie.

Crystal and Darren.

Ginger and Sami.

Ginger again. Ginger kept doing these false good byes. They live in South Dakota and we said good bye at the end of July. Then they decided to drive out for one last trip. Then they left on Monday, and came back a few minutes later and had decided to stay one more day! So we said a lot of good byes, and Amelia was so cute with her hugs and kisses.

Mom, Ginger, Amelia, Heather, Sam, Juan, me.

Last night we saw Hairspray at Sandy Amphitheater. I love musicals!

Me and Heather. Color coordinated.

Snuggle bugs.

And today we said good bye to Miriam, Sadie and Claire. Sadie was too shy for the camera, sweet girl. Mir's a lifelong friend, and we've lived far away before. We always just pick up where we left off.
Now I must get back to packing. Seriously I cannot wait for the moving part to be over and to be settled in our cute little apartment. We have really loved living in my parent's basement. My mom and dad are pretty awesome and they have helped us out so much.

Family Reunion - Idaho

We took a road trip to Idaho this weekend for our family reunion. It was such a fun trip and we saw family we hadn't seen in years. Amelia was a bit cranky in the car, but mostly did a good job. She did a great job on the way back because she was with Judson. Poor Juan had to squeeze in the backseat with 2 carseats. He is a trooper.

We all got matching tshirts. Amelia's was a dress.

Sami, Spencer, Sadie, Josh

So cute

Crystal, Darren, Judson

We went to Shoshone Falls for a picnic. Isn't is beautiful? Amelia loved all the water.

Juan participating in one of the relays. Good times.
Amelia was a little ham during the talent show and kept climbing up on stage. She had no problem being the center of attention.

This week is the packing week. We are also meeting up with a lot of friends. It should be a fun week! Minus the packing part.

And I just wanted to show Amelia's cute teeth. She finally got her top front teeth. First one came in, which was hilarious, I never got a picture! And then the other came in and quickly caught up. Cute girl.

I forgot about Amelia

Huggies! Cutest video ever. I love her little pat on the back.

So here we are down to a little over 3 weeks until the move. And I've been keeping myself excited and calm, thinking of all the ways I'll be okay. But I forgot about Amelia!

Here we live surrounded by most of her cousins and aunts and uncles. She is comfortable with everyone, running up to them with her arms out. She can say some names: Ginger, Grandpa, Judson, Sam. She loves being surrounded by family. I am so sad for her, to take her away from everyone.

I think, will she ever be this comfortable with them again? And I know she will, it only took her a couple hours to warm up to Grandma Rose. But this is what finally got me to cry about moving. I've held strong, but the changes I realized Amelia will be going through is what broke me.

At the same time, we sure have fun just the three of us.

Here we are at PF Chang's. She always has to drape her foot over something, whether it's the side of her carseat or up onto the table in this case!

We also headed to the mall. And Juan and I proceeded to torture Amelia with the mannequins. She was so worried about them. We'd bring her up close and she would just cover her mouth in such terror. And it was almost as if she was concerned for them like, why is his head cut off? We tried to get her to touch one, not a chance. It was super entertaining for me and Juan!

I know that we will make tons of new friends for Amelia, and I'm excited to see her warm up to a new crop of people. All the while we'll have pictures and video chat to keep up with the family.

Soon to be FOUR

Sisters, sisters- there were never such devoted sisters...

We are expecting baby #2, another girl, in January!!!

We were lucky to find out what we are having very early, I am 15 weeks along.

I am beaming over the idea of 2 little girls. I tried to tell Juan this will save us money because I have all the clothes already. He gave me an eye roll on that one. Juan is also thrilled, Amelia converted him to the joys of baby girls. And Amelia, she can't get enough of babies so we are all happy. YAY!

Amelia funnies

I started this game with Amelia for whenever I need her to come to me, I say come see what I have for you in my hand! And then she'll come over to me and open my empty hand and I'll yell, huggies! And give her a big hug. I was sure she'd only fall for it a few times. But now it is her favorite game, anytime I want her to come to me it always works, and she gets so excited for the hug before she even comes and opens up my hand. Adorable!

Every morning when Amelia wakes up I say, what do you want to do now? And she'll say "ba ba" for her sippy cup of milk. Well I somehow made her think that is the answer to every question, because now anytime I ask 'what's up?' or 'what can I do for you?' or literally any what, why, or how question she will answer 'ba ba'. It's become a type of joke, she laughs after knowing that she just had her sippy or she'll say really fast babababababa with this huge grin on her face. Jokester.

When Juan works late and won't get home until after Amelia goes to bed, we talk on webcam to say goodnight. She has started playing peekaboo with him. She will duck until she can see she is outside the camera view, and then she pops back up. It is so cute!

I just love her little personality.

Wisconsin in a nutshell

We just got back from our trip! It was a perfect 4th of July away. We saw a lot of friends and of course family. Amelia was so cute and warmed up to Juan's family right away. She was giggling and playing with Grandma Rose in no time. I was so happy, it's always nerve-wracking thinking she may not adjust as well as I want her to.

We arrived late Friday. Amelia was so good on the plane, slept 2 1/2 hours on our long flight. There's her favorite face to make, she just loves the camera. At least Juan looks happy and good.

Saturday we spent the day with Juan's family. Chilled around the house, and then visited our regular Kopp's for burgers and custard.

Antonio got Amelia the cutest little car. It didn't have a battery, and Amelia couldn't reach the pedal, so Juan got a work out pushing her around. As you can see, she LOVED it.
We went to the park and check out this comfy swing I found.
We took Amelia swimming for the first time this summer and she was so cute. Juan and I both got brave enough to throw her up out of the water and she would put her hand over her mouth every time because she was so scared, but then she'd come down grinning and squealing. We had so much fun.

 Hanging out on the lawn.
We saw our friends Patrick and Keegan for breakfast on the 4th. They have the cutest little boys and we had so much fun catching up.
And of course we saw my friend Julaine a few times. It is nice to always have Juan's family in Wisconsin so that I can go back and catch up with my old friends too.
On Monday evening, David took us to Grant Park. We took a beautiful hike out to see Lake Michigan. The weather was cool and breezy the whole time we were there really, perfect. Amelia loved the sand and was a little nervous about the water and the smelly fish.

We also visited Juan's Dad's grave on the 4th, which also happened to be his birthday. It was very special to be there and to tell Amelia about her Grandpa.

The trip was full of good memories. Here is Amelia saying good bye to Grandma. They were just the best of buds by the end.
