Quantum of Dinners

I decided it was high time for a cheesy blog post title. What does the word Quantum mean anyway? I don't like weird words that challenge my simple vocabulary. We had a fabuloso weekend.
We saw Quantum of Solace, the new James Bond movie on Friday night. As for my review, it was good. Nothing that really sets it apart from an action movie, but still entertaining and for the 10:15pm showing, I was very impressed with how little I fell asleep.

Ryan, Tiffany, Natalie and Jimmy ready for the movie.

Half of Tiffany, Natalie, Jimmy, Juan and me. We got there early and still were stuck with seats in the front section. We went to the new theatres over by University Mall, they were pretty nice.

Juan went paint-balling and got attacked pretty badly. Some even left welts!

On Saturday night we had dinner at the Bishop's house. We three couples indexed 5,000 names last month. It was hard work! The dinner was definitely a fitting reward, so yummy.

We were treated to another home-cooked meal on Sunday at my monthly family dinner. We had ribs and potato casserole. It was a weekend of great food! And great company of course.

Mario

Juan and I still think we're kids and we spent the whole weekend playing Mario. On Saturday, we did a Mario Marathon where we played Mario 1, 2, and 3 all the way through, no warping. We stopped half way through 3 because it got too late, but it was so much fun! Tonight we went over to our friends' for dinner and then afterwards all played Wii Mariokart together and again, we had a blast! I'm not a huge fan of videogames, but I love the Mario ones because of all the colors and cute characters. I love spending the whole weekend with Juan and although he's so busy throughout the whole week these days, we always make the best of our weekends and this was another good one.

High School Musical 3!!!

Let me just say this, High School Musical 3 is my favorite movie. It was so good! I know it is directed toward kids which poses the question, how did I even come into liking these movies? Well I have fabulous nieces and nephews that have great taste and got me hooked to the first soundtrack which trickled into an obsession. Back to the 3rd movie, it was just so happy! Every musical number was cute and colorful and fun. There was always something going on, I didn't get bored once. I'm trying to convince Juan to go with me again (for me, he didn't come with me the first time) on Saturday, and he said, is it long? And I said, it felt like 20 minutes! Ha ha, I highly recommend this movie if you can't tell. Heather has a picture of all of us posing with the cardboard cutouts, so I'm waiting on her to email me that, so for now this is the picture of the big 4 at our movie theater right here in Salt Lake!

Next up I have to talk about Pushing Daisies. This is one of the best shows on tv right now. Colorful, whimsical, and such a creative concept! If you're not watching it already, you need to. It is close to being canceled and although only a few people read my blog, I did make a change with this post, HIMYM has seen stellar ratings ever since (it had nothing to do with Britney Spears, all me). Back to Pushing Daisies, it is about a man, Ned, who can bring people back from the dead with one touch, but if he touches them again, they die again. He brings his childhood love back to life, Chuck, and now they are in love but can never touch because she'd die again. Every episode there is a mystery to be solved, he works with a private investigator and he touches the murder victims, asks who killed them, then touches them again. It is just so cute and such a fun concept and everyone should be watching this show!!! It is on Wednesday nights on ABC at 7 pm.

Last of all,
I voted! Now I'm not miss political by any means, but I have been following the election this year and watched all the debates. I'm very happy to be able to participate in picking our next president of the united states and all our local leaders as well. Don't forget to vote November 4.

Criggo

I read EW.com's popwatch blog and every day they have the site of the day. Today the website is criggo.wordpress.com. I almost died laughing at some of these newspaper clippings.

On subway, that's the best part. They'll take the test for you right there.

Did you have to bring your own utensils before?

If you want a laugh, check out the website. Have a good day!

Suggestions???

I'm afraid I'm going brain dead. I just had a conversation with Heather where she told me she sets her clocks in her car, kitchen, bedroom all at different times, 30, 5, 15 minutes ahead so that she can keep her mind thinking and her brain alive. WOW! Seriously, not being in school full time anymore and working at a job where I use minimal brain functions (I guess I do count money every day), I feel like my mind is going downhill. My Spanish class is the only thing keeping it alive!

First of all, I'm a tv JUNKIE. Juan is so busy with school and is currently busy an extra 3 nights a week with a tax class, I watch practically every show on tv! It's quite embarrassing, but still entertaining and addicting.

Second, which is connected to the first, I cannot read books! I am so used to 30 minute tv programs that are even cut down to 20 minutes due to tivo, that I don't have the patience for books. I also read articles on the internet all day every day, and those are half-page reading materials, how can I stick it out for 400 pages! I have completely trained myself to have the smallest attention span ever.

So my question for all of you, what do you do to keep your brain active every day? AND, any suggestions of short books that I can read to get my love for reading back? (I'm ever so slowly working through Harry Potter 6 right now).

Eagle Eye

I can't say I follow Shia LeBeouf and see all his movies, but I can say that I enjoy most of his movies, if not all. (Haven't seen Indiana yet). He is just entertaining and I'm sure like Will Smith, he picks the movies that are going to be box office gold, but the actor himself is intriguing and he makes the movie better. I like that Shia is not the typical Hollywood star. He's not Brad Pitt good-looking. He's not Russel Crowe muscley. He's just himself.

Eagle Eye is an action movie. Juan and I were in Lehi this weekend for my nephew's baptism, and didn't want to fight the BYU game traffic to get back to Provo, so we caught a movie. It was between this and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. As much as I adore Michael Cera, we decided on the action film. It was slow starting out and almost stupid, but once it explained a few things I really liked the idea and how it was so creative. It's Minority Report-esque, and I love that movie. Michelle Monaghan, who was in Made of Honor with Patrick Dempsey, was lovely. I really like her as an actress, better in Eagle Eye than in Made of Honor. Overall it was a great action movie and I recommend it.

It is movie season and Juan and I have a few trades. He really wants to see Quantum of Solace and W. I really want to see, of course, HSM3 and Twilight.

Mini Vacay

So Friday night Juan and I escaped Provo and stayed in Park City for the night! Thanks to mom and dad for being busy the last night of their timeshare and giving us the great mini vacation. We stayed at Westgate Resort and it was so fancy and nice. There was a dishwasher and full-sized fridge in the room. There was a shower/steam room and a huge jetted tub. The view was beautiful and the colors on the way to Park City through the canyon were amazing. We stopped by good ole Granny's in Heber for dinner. It is a tiny burger/shake place that Juan and I tried to go to last November and it was closed for the winter season. How fun to have a quaint place that closes for a random season. We stopped at the outlets for Juan's trip to Mrs Fields, he is obsessed with chocolate chip cookies, and I guess I don't mind them. The rest of the weekend we spent watching conference and hanging out with all the sisters during priesthood session. I love spending time with my family and with Juan and it was overall a very relaxing weekend.
