Glass Slippers

A little while back, Amelia saw these glass slippers at the store. She instantly fell in love and had to have them. She didn't even say her normal, I ask Santa for this. She carried them around the store and then reluctantly set them by the candy bars as I checked out. There were tears.

So we got home and made a sticker chart. She has been having a hard time going to bed at night and just generally being obedient. So every time she stayed in her room for naps or bedtime, she got a sticker. And every time she said, Yes Mom and was obedient right away, she got a sticker too.
It took a couple weeks, but finally the chart was filled! She was so proud. And she insisted Daddy go with her to the store to get her Glass Slippers.
And lucky enough, the Cinderella shoes were on a great sale, so we got to pick out some Belle shoes too so that Maya can play dress up as well. I have too much fun buying these cute things for my girls, especially when they play with them non-stop and can Maya get any cuter?
She loves to click around the kitchen in them.

We had a rainy day this week where we ate lunch outside as it poured rain around us. It was so much fun!

 Maya and her big eyes.

We have been having some slow summer days. Most days are really great with the girls playing together for long periods of time and just being more independent. Some days (like today) are filled with mischievous Amelia and lots of frustration on my part. And Juan coming home to a wife who is trying not to be a complete, needy mess. And yes, we are adding another one in just 2 1/2 months! Yikes people.

Those are magic slippers! Don't you love it when you find something that actually works? I can just imagine both of them clomping around your kitchen in them. Only 2 1/2 months till we get to see cute Oscar. I can't wait. These kids are so blessed to come into a great family like yours!

such a good idea! I love that you had her earn them instead of just yes or no. I'm going to use that mom awesomeness :)

I'm with Erin. Such a good idea. I usually just say yes or no, with a lot on the no side. This is a nice way to say yes, but work for it. :D And I bet she loves them ten times more because she earned them.
