Our Girl Amelia

Amelia had a birthday! I think this girl is the best little girl around. She is just a delight. So sweet and so wonderful. Her newest thing is "I hope you have a good time!" That is what she says to us when we put her down to bed. She is so sweet.
I think we look alike in this one.

I took Amelia to Kindergarten registration last week and we got to tour the school. She got a little antsy during the tour, which was led by 4th graders who happened to be very thorough. But we loved her school and she is getting excited to go to the big school after summer.

Small detour to talk about these cuties. Oscar doing his evil eye that he often gives strangers. But he does not break. And it is not usually accompanied by a smile. And below, my current favorite picture of Maya.

This picture is the best. I asked them to pose for a picture and Maya loathes pictures so much sometimes, that she went boneless. Ha!

Amelia decided to clean the house today for daddy. She picked up the toy room, her room, the kitchen table, and the family room. She even went around with the hand vac and spot checked each room. Life saver.
She is very sweet with her friends. Quiet and reserved, but just so kind and excited about her friends.
She and Maya play barbies for hours on end. They are up playing barbies right now when I put them to bed over an hour ago. I love to hear their imaginations go wild.
But Amelia's most favorite thing to do is crafting. Coloring, drawing, stickers, scissors, glue. Our table is constantly covered in "projects". And we love it so much.
Amelia is very logical. We talked about cutting her hair and her first reaction was no way! And then I told her it would be cooler in the summer, easier to brush through after swimming, and that it will grow back. I asked her to think about it. A few hours later she said, my hair will grow back mom? And decision made, we cut her hair.
She is sporty. She loves to run and do races with Juan and Maya. She is great at catch and riding her bike. She loves to try anything new that is active.
She loves to laugh. She has this fake laugh that just cackles on when she thinks Oscar is doing something cute, but then it turns into a real laugh because she always makes me laugh.
She is funny! She has a dance she does where she rolls her arms and kind of hunches over and moves from side to side. Can't explain it, but she does it to make us laugh or if she won something. She also lip syncs in the car, and rocks out while she does it. I love to watch her through my rear view mirror.
And some other gems from the last few weeks:
 Park pictures!

 Girls on a mission.

Girls night out to see Cinderella!

We just love our girl. Happy Five Amelia!

I turned 30!

I had the best Birthday this year with a lot of celebrations and just a lot of love from my husband, kids, family, and dear friends. Let's go through in pictures!

On my actual birthday, I had dinner with my girl friends since Juan worked from 7 am to 11 pm that day. Chuy's! It's not too often we get out to a sit down restaurant anymore, it was delicious.
I did get to meet up for lunch with Juan at Freddy's and it was the best time with our big family!
Juan got me a slice of cake so I could blow out candles.
And then Juan and I were able to sneak in a date night this weekend to finish the celebration. Delicious fajitas and Lupe Tortilla.
The monday before my birthday, my dear friends Kasee and Amber surprised me with a party. I thought I was just showing up to watch the Bachelor like a normal Monday night, I'm glad I decided to shower that day at 5 pm.
The best cupcake toppers. So embarrassing but hilarious at the same time.
Kasee and Amber came up with a 30 question questionnaire about me which was so detailed and funny. I didn't know some of the answers!

Amber taped this huge poster to my door with the sweetest notes about me. And I proceeded to cry. I am so so grateful for my dear friends and how thoughtful they are. Juan came home and saw the poster and I said, Amber is showing you up! And he said, "what do you mean? It's from me." Ha!

And then some other pictures from February:
Amelia's brain hat from preschool. The best.

 Daddy/daughter dance

Sunday dinner at sunset. My neighbor's gorgeous tree in the background.
Woody and Jessie! And Oscar being strong.
More snuggles! Juan LOVES to get up with the kids in the morning just for this snuggle time.
 Silly selfies.
 Princesses out shopping.
 Red velvet goodness.
I made heart shaped choc chip cookies for Juan for Valentine's. And he got me a laminator!
Valentine's dinner with friends! I love turning it into a family holiday. Love all around!

A picture Amelia drew for her friend Molly. Molly in the bottom half, plus houses with chimneys and a sidewalk with grass and a yellow flower and rainbow. Sun up top and another red flower. I love watching her drawing evolve.
And a naked Oscar. He got into the toilet and after I cleaned him up, I could not get over his cute skinny body running around.

February has been so good to us, can't believe we're almost on to March!

A Valentine's Photo Shoot

My dear friend Kasee does not disappoint. She took pictures of the kids yet again and captured the sweetest shots that I will cherish forever.

Maya gave us quite a few hilarious, fake smiles.

And then we got this gem. I love that the girls both loosened up and became more natural when Oscar came around. Sibling love.

And then some every day shots from my phone. I am 2 months away from getting an iPhone, and then these pictures will be better quality.

A day at the park, high 70s in January. My obligatory Texas brag, I just love it so much.
And a day at the circus! Juan surprised us with a Saturday adventure, with friends coming along as well.

New bunk beds. The girls have been playing for three hours each night after we put them to bed. Not a joke. Literally 3 hours. Silently, but still not sleeping. And crying more during the days from lack of sleep. Needless to say, they LOVE their new room with their bunk beds.
