So much

We barely made Halloween this year. We have gone through a week full of exhausting parenting, complete with throwing up children and Juan and I getting sick at exactly the same time and the house completely falling apart for 24 hours where the kids lived off of Kix and milk. It was the worst week. But somehow we woke up Halloween morning and everyone was well and I had a surge of energy where I cleaned and bleached down my whole house and got everyone in costumes and out the door to the community Fall Fest that morning. And then trunk or treat and trick or treating after. We made it!

Amelia was my dedicated trick-or-treater this year, running from house to house.
Oscar as a puppy, can we discuss the cuteness?
We attended a murder mystery party where Juan and I dressed up at Ronald and Iguana Trump. Juan's comb over was all his genius plan.

The only picture with her witch hat on.

I lost Oscar one day and followed the muffled yells to find him inside the pantry, behind the door, inside this box.
The girls are sharing a room now! They are doing so well, I secretly got a video of Amelia "reading" books to Maya tonight. Precious moments.
 Pumpkin Patch with friends!

Oscar woke up from his nap with Frankenstein hair and Juan and I died laughing. Does his forehead end?

Halloween is over and we had a lovely day of recovery, and then went for a long walk at one of our new favorite places and basked in the 65 and sunny weather. I love Austin so much.
Oh my dear Kasee, you crack me up.

Oscar really loved the swing today. He cried the saddest cry each time we pulled him out. He was also very enthusiastic about the slide and the climbing slope thing. He always wants to join his sisters.
Miss Amelia sure loves her brother. Priceless blurry pictures.

And Oscar sure loves his ice cream. He screams constantly until we decide to cut him off and put in his binky and hide all signs of ice cream from him.

A good start to November.

Every day goodies

Oscar is obsessed with our playroom seesaw right now and the girls are gentle and great with him.

The girls hang out on this window sill these days.

11 month old photo shoot. I'm obsessed.

(In this picture, you can see Maya's speck of light light brown in her left eye, it is so pretty.)
Potty training update:
She was pooping in her undies every day. Also pooping on the potty every day, but somehow always saving some for later :).
Now she poops in her undies once every 3 days or so. I thought we got over it, but she surprises us every few days, don't you worry.
She peed at the Target. So yeah, she has pee accidents too.
But really, she is doing great. Amelia rarely had accidents, so this is throwing me through a loop. But I feel like Maya understands when she needs to go, just would rather play instead sometimes.
She wakes up with a dry diaper every morning. Like out of 2 weeks, she has peed in her diaper once during the night. Yay!
 Bike rides through the neighborhood.
Amelia is obsessed with coloring. (I am the one that colored that castle, don't want to misrepresent.) But she is becoming more conscious of staying in the lines and mimicking me by coloring all in one direction and I love seeing her progress!

We go on beautiful walks around Round Rock.

And play at our favorite parks.
I know Oscar is looking down in this one, but I think Juan looks so good so I had to post.

Amelia requests daily to have a picnic with our Halloween blow-up Mickey. And dresses as Elsa. And this super head tilt, the only time I've ever seen it.

We went to the pumpkin patch with our friends Amanda and Brian. We have known them since our Provo married ward at church.
And now Lexi and Amelia go to preschool together!

This buddy constantly stood up on the edge of the wagon like this, but never got the guts to jump out.
 Cutest babies in a wagon!
Family picture time! One with sunglasses, one without.

Oscar spends his time lounging on this stair when the girls are upstairs.
He periodically lets out a yell to them, hoping that someone will come play with him. I love that he misses them.

Here is an example of Amelia's drawings right now. She is always drawing or coloring these days and I love that she can sit and entertain herself for long periods of time. I especially love her colorful skirt in this one. And when she draws me, she adds earrings that are a pop of color and that makes me so happy that she knows me. And her name, she is used to writing her name in all caps, and this was her trying to practice doing the first letter A and the rest in lowercase. She's been practicing her "e" for a while. She never did get all the way through her name here :)

Peek-a-boo

Oscar is 11 months. I don't even want to write about it because I don't want him to grow up. This boy just makes us so happy. His developments this month:

  • Zooming up the stairs when we forget to put up the gate and hysterically laughing the whole way. Like he can't catch his breath he is laughing so hard.
  • Refusing to eat everything suddenly: no bread, no turkey, no cheese, no veggies. Basically he eats yogurt, grapes, oatmeal, bananas, muffins.
  • Dancing to his favorite song: Taylor Swift, Shake it Off. He also likes to sing along in a hoot hoot noise.
  • Copying sounds that we make. He tries really hard to say milk.
  • Saying ooooo for moo, he loves when we hold up a cow and say moo.
  • Wrestling with his sisters and Maya cannot stop herself from knocking him over when he is standing beside the couch or just sitting in the middle of the floor minding his own business. She has a problem.
  • Messing up anything that resembles order. Dvds on the shelves, little people set up in a dollhouse, cars lined up in a row, he will swat at it back and forth until everything is crazy.
  • Waving good bye and blowing kisses consistently.
He is sooooo good. I make sure he gets enough sleep, but a lot of time he gets pulled out of naps after only 45 minutes or gets put down early so he can catch up from a missed nap. He rolls with the punches, never gets fussy. He is so chill, I love this boy so much.
